How to Get Your Brand Into an HTML template in Gmail

For the longest time I have been using Mozilla’s Thunderbird to send out my emails through my Gmail business account.  It worked fine for me because I was able to check mail all in one place and brand my emails using a signature plugin that allowed me to embed HTML (I used the signature only and typed my emails in the middle of the signature).

Recently they updated Thunderbird to version 6.0.  With this “upgrade” they look away my ability to look at HTML, so building my template or fixing things became impossible. And Outlook is no help because their system for templates is even tougher.

So it finally sent me on a hunt to find a way to brand my emails in Gmail, so I could just directly use my Google Account for all of my communications.

This video is a step-by-step on how to use the Canned Responses feature in Google’s Gmail to create a beautiful email template that is highly flexible. Continue reading

For those of you who are already familiar with QR codes, this video will most likely excite you to possibilities that haven’t been there with “free QR code generators.”  Sure, free is nice…but this is your customer experience, your brand, and your reputation we are talking about…right? So rather than getting what you pay for, get something that impresses and profits both you and your customer.

For those of you new to QR codes, you may think…”oh well, this is nice, but there must be lots of products like this out there.”  As your friends from the first paragraph can tell you…”not yet!”  At least not at this price point.  So, here we are…just in time for your kids to start telling you about these great new QR codes…and your chance to be ahead of them for once, with something even better than that freebie they downloaded.  Check it out and let us know what you think! We love feedback.

How a Facebook Party Helped Build Awareness

A few months back, we started to develop some new software.  As a long time small business web developer, I had used very traditional methods to build our business (word of mouth, radio, advertisements in the paper), but knew that our software would need to reach a larger and more focused audience with speed.Facebook Launch Party

Then along came a friend who said she was taking part in a Facebook party.  As someone who was about to launch a brand new product…this concept sounded interesting. But what was a “Facebook party?”  My first vision was very similar to that of a Tupperwear party…a gaggle of females oohing and ahhhing about the latest gossip and having their first face-to-face with some of their online friends.

But this wasn’t it at all.  When I asked her, she told me it was for her book publisher, Bright Ideas Press and that the party took place online. Continue reading

How To Get Your Social Network Digits in Order for College

With colleges and universities about to open their doors again, its time for another year of hanging out with long time friends and get to know new friends. And with the heat being generated this summer over QR codes and smartphones, its time for the next big thing to explode.

The students that don’t have smartphones will be rare and possibly ostracized. The average students will have smartphones and are probably feverishly hunting for a barcode reader and a QR code of their own. Continue reading

One of the questions I am most frequently asked is…can I put my logo inside of my QR code?  The answer is…”yes!”

As you can see by the LynxTo QR code, its as simple as just placing your logo in a strategic area of the QR code (one that doesn’t take up too much real estate or cover areas that are critical to the reader’s understanding of the code).  So the trick is knowing some basic do’s and don’ts to get this done quickly. Its amazing how many people that don’t have smartphones still see great value in the LynxTo for their business or event.

When you log into your LynxTo Manager, on the “Settings” page, if you have activated your “Get LynxTo” affiliate program, you should see “Refer a Friend and Get Affiliate Credit.”  Below this is a web address.  Cut and paste this into an email and send it to your friend with a note explaining that if they click on this link and buy a LynxTo during that visit, you will get affiliate credit for their purchase.

You can also use this link in your website or Facebook Page if you would like to promote LynxTo and get credit and cash back!
